New Chevrolet Bolt 2027 spotted

The new electric Bolt from Chevrolet was captured by spy photographers without any camouflage. Despite the fact that the automaker positions it as a new model, the car is an updated Bolt EUV. Recently, Chevrolet launched a teaser campaign for the 2027 Bolt, but there is no real reason for excitement, since this is essentially an updated version of the previous Bolt EUV – the model is instantly recognizable in profile.

Although the electric car received a new front end with a different air intake and headlights, other details, with the exception of the taillights and bumper, look familiar. However, it is quite possible that engineers will make changes soon, in particular, add new wheels and new body trim.

The Bolt will be built on the BEV2 platform and equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries, initially supplied by CATL. General Motors described this solution as a “two-year temporary measure” while battery production in the U.S. is being established.

Specifications will be announced later, but the 2023 Bolt EUV had a 65 kWh battery that powered a front-axle electric motor producing 149 kW (203 hp) and 360 Nm of torque. This configuration gave the model an EPA-estimated range of 398 km.

Chevrolet stated that the Bolt will become their most affordable electric vehicle, which means it will take a position below the popular Equinox EV in the brand’s lineup. The crossover’s price starts at $33,600, so it is expected that the new Bolt will cost around $25,000.
