Chevrolet Equinox) is a K2-class SUV with either front- or all-wheel drive. The third generation model debuted in the US on 22 September 2016, with a world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

The Equinox crossover exterior follows Chevrolet’s signature style for all its latest models. The massive front end is characterized by a large grille with chrome edging that connects the narrow headlights to the LED running lights. The car’s faceted profile is highlighted by a sloping roof with V-shaped tailpipes. Unlike its predecessor, the updated SUV’s sharply angled stern geometry features horizontal LED-filled lights, a wide chrome belt separating the protective plastic from the painted parts and square exhaust system spigots with a gloss finish. The Equinox 3 has reduced its size considerably. Its length decreased by 118 mm and now is 4652 mm, height is reduced by 23 mm – now is 1661 mm, width is almost the same – 1843 mm (+1), and here the wheelbase became shorter by as much as 132 mm and now reaches 2725 mm. At the same time the overall design became 180 kg lighter. As for payload capacity, the luggage space is reduced from 892 to 846 litres (1,798 liters with unfolded backrests of rear sofas).

Completely redesigned interior of Chevrolet Equinox is similar to the interior of Malibu sedan. High-quality construction and materials, along with good ergonomics and comfortable seats provided the car a good level of comfort. The high-gloss decorations and high-quality leather inserts add to the solidity. Behind the multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel there is a dashboard with bright blue backlight. The centre console features a 7-inch (optional 8-inch) touchscreen MyLink infotainment system supporting Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi. The SUV’s wealth of equipment can include advanced systems such as automatic braking, Lane Departure Warning, Front Collision Warning and more.

Chevrolet Equinox is based on D2XX/D2UX chassis, the design of which includes front independent MacPherson struts and multilever in the rear (previously was a twin beam). The base version comes with front-wheel drive, while an all-wheel drive version is available for an additional charge.

The Chevrolet Equinox is powered by one of two 1.5- and 2.0-liter gasoline engines, producing 173 hp (275 Nm) and 256 hp (353 Nm) respectively, and a 137-hp (320 Nm) 1.6 liter diesel unit. The two-litre unit is paired with a nine-speed automatic, while a six-speed automatic transmission is available for the others.
