The Chevrolet Cruze is a compact car made by General Motors since 2008, replacing the unrelated Chevrolet Cobalt and Chevrolet Lacetti.

The Chevrolet Cruze is based on the global Delta II platform, on which the fourth-generation Opel Astra will be built.

The Chevrolet Cruze was first introduced in 2008 for the South Korean market as the Daewoo Lacetti Premiere, replacing a car that has been on sale since 2003. GM will replace the previous generation with the Cruze during 2009. The Chevrolet Cruze makes its world premiere at the 2008 Paris Motor Show.

The Chevrolet Cruze takes the dynamic look of a four-door coupe, opening up a new dimension in the design of traditional three-door sedans. With its distinctive radiator grille, curved body centreline and ‘twin cockpit’ design theme, the Chevrolet Cruze underscores a new, global styling language that will characterise future Chevrolet cars wearing the gold ‘bowtie’.

The Chevrolet Cruze is the result of a development process that leverages GM’s global resources. This process aims to create new standards of aesthetics and quality for compact cars.
