2013 Chevrolet Cruze Owner's Manual

The Chevrolet Cruze is a front-wheel-drive C-class sedan aimed primarily at the European market. In 2012 the car underwent a slight restyling.

Nothing fundamentally new in terms of design the updated Cruze is not in itself. Chevrolet only tweaked the shape of the front bumper, slightly modified the grille and headlights. Everything else is left untouched, including the car’s interior.

Chevrolet Cruze is based on General Motors Delta II platform, which became a basis for such cars as Opel Astra and Meriva, as well as Chevrolet Ampera. However, the Cruze still has some differences from its “bogie” fellows. For example, its rear suspension was deprived of Watt mechanism, having installed there a simple twisting beam. There are some other nuances, but they are not so essential that we need to spend a lot of time listing them. The sedan comes with 16-inch wheels in the base configuration and 17-inch wheels as an option. In addition, the basic power steering can be replaced with electric power steering for an additional fee.

Prior to restyling, there were three types of engines in the Chevrolet Cruze’s engine lineup – two 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter gasoline engines (113 and 141 hp, respectively) and a 2-liter turbocharged diesel (163 hp). However, the Chevrolet engineers have prepared two more power units – a 1.7-liter diesel and a 1.4-liter petrol “turbo”. Depending on the configuration and the engine, the Cruze’s transmission can be a 5- or 6-speed manual, or a 6-band automatic.

In Australia Chevrolet Cruze is known as Holden Cruze. Production of the model for the Russian market is carried out at the plant in the village of Shushary near St. Petersburg. The car is supplied to all other countries from Incheon (Republic of Korea).
