2012 Chevrolet Cruze Owner's Manual

The Chevrolet Cruze is a front-wheel drive C-class hatchback built on the General Motors Delta II platform. The car underwent a restyling in 2012.

In the updated version of the Chevrolet Cruze only the front part of the car has undergone revision – the bumper, grille and headlights. Interior design remained the same, as well as the technical “stuffing”. McPherson struts are still used in the front suspension, and a simple torsion bar is installed in the back. In the base model the sedan is equipped with 16-inch wheel disks, and as an option – with 17-inch wheels. In addition, the basic power steering can be replaced with electric power steering for an additional fee.

The Cruze hatchback is predictably shorter than its sedan counterpart (4,510 vs. 4,597 mm) but wider (1,797 instead of 1,788 mm). The height and length of the wheelbase are identical – 1477 and 2685 mm, respectively. By the way, the boot of the hatchback didn’t suffer much from reduction of overall length of the car. In the five-seater version its volume is 413 litres, if you fold the backrest, the boot volume will increase to 883 litres.

Prior to restyling, there were three types of engines in the engine lineup of Chevrolet Cruz – two petrol 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter (113 and 141 hp, respectively), as well as a 2-liter turbocharged diesel (163 hp). However, Chevrolet engine engineers have prepared two more powertrains – a 1.7-liter diesel and a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine. Depending on the configuration and engine, the Cruze’s transmission can be a 5- or 6-speed manual, or a 6-band automatic. The most powerful of the power units, 2-liter diesel, accelerates the car up to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, while consuming 5.6 litres of fuel (mixed cycle).

In Australia, Chevrolet Cruze is known as Holden Cruze. Production of the model for the Russian market is carried out at the plant in the village of Shushary near St. Petersburg. The car is supplied to all other countries from Incheon (Republic of Korea).
