The second-generation Traverse comes with two engines – a 3.6-liter V6 inline four-cylinder engine producing 310 hp and 360 Nm of torque and a 2-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine producing 255 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is the default, but a rear axle with a multi-disc clutch is available for a surcharge.

Options offered for the SUV include 4G LTE internet with Wi-Fi hotspot, rear-view mirror with camera display, adaptive cruise control, all-around cameras, two sunroofs, LED headlights and electronic systems such as automatic lights, collision warning, automatic low-speed braking, lane-keeping system, blind-spot monitoring system and parking assistant.
