2011 Chevrolet Volt Owner's Manual

On the outside, the Chevrolet Volt retains much of what made the concept so distinctive and memorable. A slightly more rounded bonnet line, tapered sidewalls, a special anti-wing and sloped front and windscreen. Thanks to all this, the aerodynamic drag is reduced to such a level, which allows the car to realize the task – to go 60 km without a drop of petrol.

The Chevrolet Volt is not a hybrid, it is a car of a completely new class – with “E-REV” technology, i.e. long-distance electric vehicle. It is the first car ever to use electricity as its primary energy source, with a T-shaped lithium-ion battery compartment generating 16 kWh of power.

After 60km, the Chevrolet Volt, powered by E85 petrol or ethanol, generates additional electric power to keep the car going for hundreds of miles. Unparalleled fuel efficiency is achieved as the engine only recharges the batteries. GM estimates that drivers making 100km daily trips can save around 2,000 litres a year compared to other similarly priced cars whose fuel consumption averages 7.8l/100km.

Inside the Chevrolet Volt you’ll find the most advanced interior, centred around a liquid crystal display with touchscreen function, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The luxury seating for up to 4 passengers can be selected from a wide range of colours and fabrics.
