2016 Chevrolet Volt Owner's Manual
The first generation Volt was created exclusively as an electric car, but in the process of redesign it was additionally equipped with a gasoline engine. The main electric motor (149 hp) provides a speed of 160 km/h.
The second-generation Volt has been completely redesigned, the interior has been changed, and the stroke has been increased. The model is equipped with two electric motors (149 hp) and a fuel-powered gasoline engine (102 hp).
In 2016, during restructuring at General Motors, production of the hybrid was stopped due to a drop in sales (although it was planned to restyle the Volt and continue production). Drivers began to prefer electric cars, while demand for hybrids dropped. The car can still be occasionally purchased from some collectors.
