2012 Chevrolet Impala Owner's Manual

The Impala is built on the Epsilon II platform, as is the Cadillac XTS. Both use McPherson struts in the front suspension and a four-lever design in the rear for proper comfort and handling. But the Impala’s axle spacing is bigger – 2,837 mm, as well as the overall dimensions. Besides, the sedan has a completely new body, which allowed the engineers to reduce the car to 1750-1789 kg (depending on configuration).

The Chevrolet Impala is powered by a 3.6-liter gasoline engine with a V-shaped six cylinders. This engine has a capacity of 305 hp. The second engine is a little smaller – a 2.5-liter Ecotec engine with 195 horsepower. Both engines are paired only with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Chevrolet Impala is assembled in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, and also in Detroit, USA, at the Hamtramck Assembly plant.
