2014 Chevrolet Camaro Owner's Manual
The Camaro is based on the GM Zeta platform with McPherson struts at the front and a four-lever design at the rear. As for the body, Chevrolet has no special love for light materials regarding its cult car. Only the amplifier at the place of coupling of thresholds and back wings is made of high-strength steel. Only the sills are made of extra high-strength rolled steel.
The Chevrolet Camaro has a 6.2-liter gasoline engine with V-shaped arrangement of eight cylinders under the bonnet. More precisely, there are two such engines. The first, more powerful, produces 426 hp of power at 5,900 rpm and 569 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm, paired only to a six-speed manual transmission with dual mass flywheel and dual clutch. The second engine, less powerful with intake phase shifters and Eaton valve blocking mechanism to cut off half of the cylinders at partial loads, has 400 bhp and 556 Nm. It is combined exclusively with the Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic transmission. With a manual gearbox, the coupe reaches 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.
