The Chevrolet Cobalt is based on the GM Delta front-wheel-drive platform. The design of the coupe was inspired by the Chevrolet Corvette, one of the most popular sports cars in the US.

The Chevrolet Cobalt comes with two four-cylinder gasoline engines. The base engine is a 2.2-liter 140-horsepower engine and a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 260 horsepower. The engine is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox with short strokes of the lever.

Four airbags, air conditioner, rear fog lights, audio system with CD, ABS, on-board computer, TC traction control system are included in Chevrolet Cobalt set, and interior trimming in leather, heated seats, CD/MP3 player and many others are offered at extra charge.
