2017 Chevrolet SS Owner's Manual
Chevrolet SS – rear-wheel drive sedan class “E”. The restyled version of the model debuted in September 2015.
Just two years after the launch of the SS (Super Sport) model, Chevrolet has slightly updated its appearance. In particular, the car received a redrawn front bumper (the same as that of its twin brother Holden Commodore VFII) with vertical slots along the edges for a more rational distribution of air flow around the wheels. In addition, “gills” appeared on the hood to help cool the engine. At the back, four pipes of a dual-mode exhaust system attract attention (quiet at low revs and piercingly loud at high revs). And, of course, we can not fail to note the new pattern of 19-inch alloy wheels.
In the technical part, no significant changes have occurred. The Chevrolet SS is still based on a rear-wheel drive platform with McPherson struts in the front suspension and a multi-link design in the rear. The car flaunts sporty power steering settings, a low center of gravity, and an almost perfect weight distribution along the axles. And so that the sedan not only confidently kept the road, but also effectively stopped, the engineers used Brembo brakes with front discs with a diameter of 355 mm. The car “stands” on forged alloy wheels, “shod” in Bridgestone tires measuring 245/40 R19 at the front and 275/35 R19 at the rear.
