The car was created in a retro style. A small compact station wagon. There are two engines to choose from. The first has a capacity of 2.2 liters, generating 141 horsepower. The second is 2.4 liters with 175 horsepower. Manual transmission with five gears, or four-speed automatic transmission is available. The fuel consumption is considerable, 10 liters per 100 kilometers, in the weak version of the engine. To the pluses of the exterior one can refer a completely chrome grille. Inside the cabin, the steering wheel is covered with leather, with buttons to control multimedia. The advantage of the car is a spacious trunk with a capacity of 1500 liters.
The platform on which the car is built is similar to that of the Chevrolet Cobalt. The model is also very similar to the Chrysler PT Cruiser. The person who participated in the creation of the HHR, was a representative of Chrysler. Also related models of other car manufacturers are Opel Astra H and Zafira B.
