The updated 2005 Chevrolet Ssr received a V-shaped 8-cylinder engine with a displacement of 6 liters, which produces enough power to keep the car from losing speed due to the hardtop that folds electrically. After the upgrade, 400 or 390 horsepower is hidden under the hood, depending on the type of transmission. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. A 4-speed automatic transmission is also available.

The 2005 Chevrolet Ssr accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. All the necessary comfort and safety systems are provided as standard.
The front row of seats is protected by two airbags, as well as side airbags, anti-lock brakes, and daytime running lights. Air conditioning, a leather steering wheel, cruise control, keyless entry, adaptive high beams, and an anti-theft system provide comfort in the cabin.
