Chevrolet Corvette Convertible – rear-wheel drive cabriolet class “H1”. The world premiere of the seventh generation of the model took place at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2013.

When developing this Corvette Stingray, Chevrolet designers and engineers tried not to look at the sixth generation of the model, but to do everything in a new way. As a result, the car received an original design, while retaining the recognizability and appeal of the Corvette, and a very advanced design. Firstly, many body parts are made of composite materials, thanks to which the car dropped almost half a centner of mass. At the same time, the body not only did not lose in rigidity, but also significantly increased in this indicator.

But this is not the main thing. At the heart of the Corvette Stingray is a three-dimensional aluminum structure with double wishbones front and rear, with transverse leaf springs and electronically controlled dampers. At the same time, the engineers managed to achieve a mass distribution along the axes very close to the ideal 50:50. And to ensure that the coupe not only handles well, but also effectively brakes, it was equipped with 4-piston Brembo brakes with 320 mm discs in front and 338 mm in the rear.

If you look into the interior of the Chevrolet Corvette, there you can find aluminum and carbon fiber trim, seats with a magnesium alloy frame, a 5-mode motion control system that changes settings for more than ten parameters (engine, gearbox, steering, suspension and etc.), multimedia system with two 8-inch displays and Bose speakers and much more.

Under the hood of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is a gasoline V8 with direct fuel injection, a half-cylinder shutdown system and intake and exhaust phase shifters.
