There are eight Chevrolet Malibu body paint options, four interior trim combinations, eight basic airbags, stabilization system, dual-zone climate control and an audio system to choose from. Several additional rear passenger airbags, a multimedia system with a navigation system and rearview camera, as well as a lane-keeping system are available at extra cost. Wheel rims can be selected from 17-, 18- and 19-inch rims.

Malibu’s power plant consists of an electric motor-generator rated at 15kW, lithium-ion batteries, and a 2.4-liter inline four petrol engine rated at 182 hp. This unit is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Although the primary market for the Chevrolet Malubu is American, the car is sold in more than 100 countries, and is manufactured at General Motors plants in Michigan and Kansas (USA), as well as in South America and China.
